It was one of my favourite cartoons when I was a child.
Although the existing of the Italian opening, RAI-TV often broadcasted this english song.
To remenber one of the funniest toons I’ve ever seen!
Uno dei miei cartoni preferiti d’ infanzia. Nonostante esista la sigla italiana, la Rai ha quasi sempre mandato in onda la versione in inglese. Un ricordo di uno dei cartoni più spassosi che abbia visto!

I’m gonna learn Italian so I can understand what the HECK they’re saying when ya don’t put english subtitles. It seems great though. Very funny.

This was a co-production between Miyazaki and publicitalian television RAI. Unfortunately the italian part of the production was so bad (censorship, cuts, bad translation, and so on.
And finally came out that RAI didn’t pay for the copyright owners of R.L.Stevenson’s Sherlock Holmes. the Nippo-Italian production stopped and restarted 4 years later without Italy and w/out Miyazaki who had lost interest and was non trusting italian TV anymore. That’s the way it works in my spaghetti country

I don’t really know! In Italy was aired for the first time in 1984!
I knew there is an English version of this toon, but I noticed it’s got a poorest screenplay!
That’s why I uploaded The Italian language; it’s got much more dialogues!

The French version is not bad at all, but I prefere the English. You know, I’ve been accustomed to that for 25 years!
I also downloaded some French episode and noticed it’s got a different screenplay from the Italian one. If you’d like to compare, you can see some video on my channel.

Right. The toon was called “Sherlock Hound”, in Italya was “Il fiuto di Sherlock Holmes” (The smelling of Sherlock Holmes). Unfortunately it hadn’t great success in my country

We americand ruined yet another great piece of art here. The International versions feel much more appropriate with the strings, harpsichords, etc.

It is in english SilverBellsAbove. When I was younger, I used have it on vhs. Dont know if they still exist now though.
